PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

PROCEDURES

Perform the following procedures on a

weekly basis.

• Checking the water inlets

• Checking the seawater inlet hole

• Inspecting the anodes

• Checking the oil level

■ Checking the water inlets

Check the water inlets for debris or marine

growth. Clean if necessary.

■ Checking the seawater inlet hole

Check the seawater inlet hole. Clean if

necessary.

■ Inspecting the anodes

Inspect the anodes and replace if 50 %

corroded. See Corrosion Protection on

page 13.

■ Checking the oil level

Check the stern-drive oil level within one

week of the first use as follows:

1. Remove the oil vent plug (1, Figure 1)

and gasket (2, Figure 1).

2. If necessary, add oil until an air-free

stream of oil flows from the oil vent

hole.

3. Install the oil vent plug and gasket.

Torque the oil vent plug.
